Physical Rehabilitation (archive)

Herzog’s Department of Physical Rehabilitation cares for patients recovering from strokes, fractures and orthopedic surgery. Experienced physiotherapists, occupational and speech therapists help patients regain a maximum level of functioning so that they may return home as quickly as possible.

Nearly 80% of all such patients who arrive at Herzog Hospital on stretchers or in wheelchairs walk out on their own two feet. This is due to the fact that the staff in all areas – medicine, nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy – is recognized as one of the best in Israel, having received the renowned Histadrut ‘Namir’ Prize.

There is a special emphasis on contact with the patient’s family, who receive guidance on how to cope with the patient’s return home, or advice on alternative care.

The department has recently been totally renovated and is now the most modern, efficiently designed physical rehabilitation department in Israel. The department has 33 beds in 14 rooms.
