Adolescent & Young Adult Respiratory Care

At Herzog Medical Center, our Adolescent and Young Adult Chronic Respiration and Respiratory Rehabilitation Department is a global leader in respiratory care. As part of the renowned Chronic Respiration Care Division, we cater to adolescents and young adults aged 14 to 25, regardless of religion or background. Our holistic and multidisciplinary approach involves expert collaboration across disciplines such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. With cutting-edge facilities and specialized medical expertise, we empower lives beyond medicine by stimulating cognitive, emotional, and social development. Our vision is to unlock the potential of  every patient, making a lasting impact on their well-being.

For example, in 2013, Herzog Medical Center inaugurated a special education school within our respiratory wing. Our dedicated teachers use innovative methods—motion, music, and animals—to stimulate sensory, motor, and mental growth. Important to mention that due to the ongoing war the department has received a relatively high number of cases referred to us from hospitals under attack, including some of the wounded. Some, such as Avihu, a Golani soldier who was seriously wounded while defending Israel during the Hamas attacks of October 7th. With the warm care, encouragement, love and support which Herzog Medical Center offers to Avihu, and others like him, these heroes are recuperating and rehabilitating their lives to the best extent possible.

Following is a brief video about Herzog's impact on the life of Avihu
